At its September 9, 2008 monthly
meeting, the BBRS voted, by
emergency, to temporarily waive
Construction Supervisor License
(CSL) requirements for those
narrowly involved in the
insulating the building thermal
envelope or insulating other
systems or portions thereof,
required by the Building Code –
such action is effective
as of 9/9/08. This
action was taken:
-
To allow the citizenry of
the Commonwealth to take
full advantage of Utility
Demand Side Energy
Conservation Programs (which
can include the improved
insulating of buildings and
building HVAC systems) as
Massachusetts moves into the
2008/2009 heating season,
and;
-
Was necessary as the present
Building Code language for
Construction Supervisor
License requirements does
not expressly exempt
insulation contractors from
licensure.
The MFBO will be holding its
first annual golf tournament on
September 15, 2008 at Stow Acres
Country Club.
